La Confession in A
(Theme & 2 Variations)
by Michel Corrette (1709-1795)

Notice the similarity in melody to the 1st movement of Mozart's Sonata in A K.331 (below).  Corrette used 8 measures for "A" and 12 measures for "B".  This guy was still around when Mozart was in Paris in 1778.

Main Theme in A (K.331)
(1st movement for comparison)
by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791)

Mozart merely altered the meter (6/8) and the rhythm of the Corrette theme (4/4). He kept the structure pretty similar to Corrette's - 8 measures for "A" and 10 measures for "B".
